Nepal is a beautiful South Asia’s country with distinct charm and mystical allure. Since decades, Nepal has been luring tourists from all over the world to explore the mystifying appeal of the country, especially its mountains. Nepal has the possession of world’s eight highest peaks, which also include the tallest mountain in the world, Mount Everest. Political Overview
Nepal functioned as a Constitutional Monarchy till recently. In 2008, the constitution of Nepal was changed by the Constituent Assembly to make it a Federal Democratic Republic. The last two decades has seen quite a many changes in terms of politics and governance in Nepal.

Geographical Overview
Nepal is located between India and China in Southern Asia and portrays wide diversity in terms of geography. The topography of Nepal consists of terai region, hill region and mountain region. The country possesses some of the highest mountains in the globe such as the Mount Everest. As far as climate of Nepal is concerned, it varies. The summers are mostly cool whereas the winters become severe in the northern side of Nepal. And in southern side, the climate is subtropical in summers and mild in winters.

Tourism
Nepal is definitely a tourist hotspot. Since decades, this has been a favorite destination for international tourists from across the world. During 1960s and 70s, Nepal was a favorite place of most hippie crowd from Europe or U.S. They definitely contributed a lot in making Nepal so popular in the list of best tourist places in the world. The best picks from the list of destinations and things to see and do in Nepal include a visit to Pokhara and Annapurna Circuit. Enjoy temples in Tensen and Lumbini. Bandipur is another popular city offering Newari architecture. Kathmandu is the capital and a popular city of Nepal. Other attractions in Nepal include royal Chitwan national park, Langtang national Park, Koshi Tappu national park, opportunities of rafting and canyoning, climbing the Everest. Patan, Bhaktapur and Janakpur are other favoutite places in Nepal.

Culture & People
Nepal experiences distinct culture, unique and rich in many ways, which have evolved over centuries. The diversity of Nepali culture is due to the existence of various ethnic and tribal groups residing and following their own customs and traditions in Nepal. This in a way also offers diversity in music, art, dance, crafts, languages, rituals, festivals and cuisine amongst other things. The main food of Nepal is ‘dal bhat’ or boiled rice and lentil soup. As many as 92 languages are said to be used in Nepal. However, Nepali is the major language along with Maithili, Bhojpuri, Tharu and so on. Hindu is the major religion in Nepal along with Buddhist, Muslim, and Kirant and many others.

Economy
Nepal is one of the poor and less developed countries of Asia. A large number of Nepali population stays below the poverty line. Agriculture is the core strength of the economy and provides livelihood to a number of people of the population. Main industries include agriculture processing industries, hydropower industries.

The economy of Nepal was also badly affected by the uncertainty in the political scenario of Nepal over the years. Tourism and the hospitality industry of Nepal also contribute to the growing economic development of the country.
