Main tower of Padmanabhaswamy Temple rises to a height of 100 feet, which gradually tapers upwards. Sculpture work in the Gopuram or the tower is praiseworthy that reflect the artistic sense of the yore. It showcases the amalgamation of both Kerala and Hindu architecture. Padmanabhaswamy Temple is quite strict in its rules and only people belonging to Hindu religion can enter the temple premises. Another much visited temple in Thiruvanathapuram, the capital city of Kerala, is the Ganesh temple that is located in Pazhavangady near MG Road. It is a common ritual to break coconuts in the Ganesha Temple before any venture as that can remove all the obstacles that might come in future. The colored sculptures of Ganesha along with the golden colored spires look marvelous against the black backdrop, the color of the temple. In short it can be said that this temple also reveals the artistic sense of the architects of the bygone era. |
