Tour to Hydrabad

A trip to Hyderabad

Hyderabad tourist places

We were planning for a trip to Hyderabad, my brother lived in hyderabad and was asking to come here and spend some time with him in hyderabad, he is a Dr. and working with Novartis as a Sr. Medical Writer, so we plan a trip of 7 days to Hyderabad. We lived in Delhi, the time was short and we did not get the Railway ticket reservation, the waiting list number was around 50. I decide to reserve through Tatkal ticket booking. So I wake up early in the morning and went to Tatkal booking counter at Nizamuddin Railway Station. New Delhi Railway Station and Old Delhi Railway Station are nearby my house but I went to Nizamuddin Railway Station. The crowd is little less than both the station due to location of Nizamuddin Railway station is outside the city. I reached their at 5 .45 am. The gate of Tatkal booking counter was closed and people have made the queue outside the gate. My number was around 16; some were also in the line and take some money to allow someone to take his position. Anyway it was difficult to pass the time of 2 hours the counter has to open at 7.45 am. People were talking to each other and sharing their experience. The weather was pleasant and the clouds were gathering, suddenly the raining had been started and the authority of Indian Railway opened the gate and we all get into the reservation room and waiting for opening the counter. After a long wait the counter has opened at sharp 8.00 am and ticket booking has started. There were 7 tickets booking counter and i was sitting at second counter and my number was 5th. I booked 3 tickets of Karnataka, KTK Sampark Kranti Express The train No. is 12560, and get confirmed ticket for day after tomorrow.
We packed the luggage in hurry and did shopping for traveling and some gift for brother and his wife, but we forget the gift of my nephew. But we thought we will purchase from Hyderabad itself and give him.
The train time was 6.45 am and we reached at the station at 6.15 am in the morning and waiting for the train at the platform no. 7 at Nizamuddin railway Station New Delhi. Generally the south 3India Trains depart from Nizamuddin. My brother has downloaded the train schedule and send sms to me according to him The KTK Sampark Kranti Express train schedule has 3 stations between Delhi to Hyderabad. It starts from Nizamuddin Delhi - Jhansi - Bhopal - Nagpur -kacheguda (Hyderabad). Train has arrived at the platform at 6.30 am we get our seats. And become comfortable. The train bogy was much tidy as expected. The train was on time and depart sharp at 6.45 am. Our journey had been started, we took some rest and took our breakfast, and the train had reached at Agra at around 9 am, then Jhansi, Bhopal, Nagpur then Kacheguda station of Hyderabad. We get down there my brother was waiting for us at the platform. The train has to go to Yashwantpur Karnatka.
Finally we reached at Hyderabad at 7.20 am next morning, the train was little late around 15 minutes, but that’s ok in the 24 hours journey it does not count, we get the car from the parking and reached the flat at Tolychowky near Mehndipatnam in Hyderabad.
After having rest till noon we took the lunch and went out for shopping in the market nearby house. It was a local market where we can find some local jewelry, clothes, bakers, meet shops in the beef shop they display the best beef outside the shop and sell In the evening. Local sweet’s shops and snacks are attractions of that local market.
If we talking about the food you want to explore best Mughals flavors Hyderabad is the right place for that. Amazing delicious food of mughal period. The dishes had been prepared for kings and their guests at the time of Nizam Hyderabad, now they have vanished but the Cooks are assets to the nation, they started selling Mughlai food in the street and this makes Hyderabad famous in the World. Everybody known about Hyderabadi Biryani, Haleem and other non-veg dishes.
We had been exhaust till late evening and need some food we find a local food court specialised market for food only, different - different food restaurants are available in that market. We selected Ice and Spice to take some shawarma and parantha. It was ok but not very delicious, we had shawarma somewhere in the local market which was very tasty and economic so I would suggest if you want to eat typical Hyderabadi food so try to get from local food market.
On the road side hundreds of fruit sellers and vegetables selling them, you can find good  quality of fig, I am thrilled to eat the fig fruit very rare for north India, but you can find it easily, it is very nutritious, good for heart and mind. Mango and the Chiku are the large fruit crop of Andhra Pradesh, pomegranates, custard apple, coconut and banana are also available at very cheap rates.
We returned at home and discussed for further move, so we decide to go to the Chomahalla palace in Hyderabad.
Next morning we reached the Chawmahalla palace at 9.30 am, we get inside the palace and WOW it was really a luxurious place I have ever seen. The architecture of hyderabad can be seen and interior of palace was amazing. There was a big hall inside in one main building called Diwan-e-khas, the beautiful glass chandeliers hanging all around the hall, glossy marble floor and the decorated ceiling with beautiful artwork on it. The decorated pillars, walls and the old antique fans making the environment so royal and that interior decorations are looking like a work of art.
The Hyderabad developed by Qutub Qulli Shah and the Chowmahalla palace belong to Jang Bahadur they have their own territory, own currency and own army, The currency has been displayed with old documents, old photographs of royal family and their guests, for public. Arms and ammunitions, like swords and arrows, jabbling, shield, raths, top, guns and other arms. Paintings are also a big attractions of the room. Old crockery with cutleries, ceramic decoration vase, chines and other Asian ceramic potteries. Beautiful expensive furniture made of brass had been displayed. Wall hangings and other decorative items had been displayed there to show their luxury life at the time when people had been struggling for food. The Kings and their close relatives and friends had high luxurious life however even today it is tough for any rich people to get that level of luxury. Their clothes and home furnishing things was telling us their stories, hand embroidered sherwani, hand embroidered kurti, expensive saaries, turban with diamond decorated on them, juti and chappals, jewelry and other stuffs. A big clock is also a tourist attraction in Chawmahalla Palace. I have seen lots of vehicle of their time around 100 years back and older than that, different horse carts, motor cycle, and luxurious car, one of them was Rolsroyace, Fiat and other brands. At the end there was a reception area where guest would have entertained, beautiful sofas and tables was making that environment like royal feel.

Ohhh I was really impressed to see that.

On the next day we planned to go to hussain Sagaar lake and Lumbani Park, both are at the same place, the lake was huge and full of water, where we can hire a boat and take a ride, also we can enjoy steamer ride in the lake. The park have so many things for children activities. In the evening there was a laser show in which they have shown a brief introduction of Hyderabad through the laser light and sound effects.
Golkonda Fort, on the third day we plan to go to the Golkonda fort, it is an amazing architecture of that time, the speaking wall, the sound of clap, the bridge of granite stone, water system, the amazing water supply system from bottom to top and the whole city, the golkonda name known for it round water-pond fort (Gol Konda Fort). There are a well-designed round water pond which had been used for store drinking water. A big open theater, guest rooms, garden and other storage room and much more to explore. It is an amazing structure for study old architecture of India.
Char minar, However there are so many famous places in Hyderabad but the Hyderabad is known for its Char Minar monument, the beautifully designed Masjid in the heart of Hyderabad. The Char Minar area is very crowded like crowded area of Old Delhi. Some encroachment have been happened there by some people at Char minar, People have made a temple at one corner of Char Minar is like a spot at Moon. The archeology survey of India didn’t take care properly the old monuments of Hyderabad. People of Andhra Pradesh are destroying the beauty of Hyderabad by allowing people to encroachment anywhere in the city. Ohh anyway it’s a part of politics. Lets go ahead, near Char Minaar there are lots of jewelry shops where you can purchase beautiful jewelry pieces. The sparkling shops attract tourist to lose everything in the name of jewelry. One more thing is very famous of Hyderabad is natural pearl jewelry, stone and gems. The natural pearls have been imported since Mughal period and continually till now it provide business to thousands of people of Hyderabad. It is the home for some of the best jewelry designers.
