Gaum

With an area of 549 square km, Guam is an island in the Western Pacific Ocean. Ceded to the US by Spain in 1898 it was captured by the Japan in 1941, only to be retaken by the US in 1946. The US has a strategic military installation on this island. Most of the people who inhabited this largest of the Mariana Islands are Chamorros who made the territory their home some 3,500 years ago.

The largest and southernmost of the Mariana Islands, Guam is a captivating destination for the tourists mainly from Japan. The mainstay of Guam's economy is tourism.

Among the places of interests in the island is the Tumon Bay that crammed with expensive hotels, restaurants and clubs. It is also home to a spectacular reef, Y’pao Beach Park. Don’t miss to visit the Puntan Dos Amantes, also known as Two Lovers Point, located at the top of 125 m limestone cliff. The country still shows an active interest in Chamorro culture. Known for its famous Chamorro culture, the island has a beautiful Chamorro Cultural Village exhibiting traditional Chamorro arts and craft.
