Travel overview
Beyond the city of Athens with its ancient archeological sites like
Acropolis, the Panathenaic Stadium and the Temple of Olympian Zeus,
is a treasure-trove of charming cities and towns, sprinkled with medieval
mansions and castles, steeped in folklore. Not that Greece is predominantly
about archeological sites. For most tourists, its landscape holds
just as much fascination - and variety. One of country’s greatest
draws is undeniably its Mediterranean beaches and vineyards that draw
a large number of visitors. In the ancient site of Vergina, a UNESCO
World Heritage site, you can find the royal tombs including that of
Phillip II.
